Yellow fever is a viral disease caused by an arbovirus belonging to the Flaviviridaes family. It is an acute disease, causing bleeding, which is transmitted by a hematophagous mosquito infected with the virus. It is called "Yellow" fever due to the icteric dye due to hemolysis that originates in this pathology. This disease usually causes severe symptoms, so much so that more than half of infected patients die during the first 7 to 10 days of the disease. How is yellow fever spread? This virus is endemic, that is, it is frequently found in the tropical areas of Africa, Central America and South America. This disease has two transmission cycles, the jungle cycle and the urban cycle. 1. Jungle cycle: in this cycle the vectors are species of mosquitoes that we usually get in jungle areas, in Central and South America the main vector is Haemagogus and Sabethes. 2. Urban cycle: in this case, yellow fever is transmitted by mosquitoes that have domestic characteristics and are generally found in urban and inhabited regions. The main vector in this transmission cycle is Aedes aegypti, the same vector that transmits Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya viruses. It is a mosquito that develops and reproduces in containers that can store water, such as tanks, flowerpots and containers that can be found outside of homes such as waste, bottles, cans, plastic containers, etc. Even mosquito eggs can withstand periods of drought of more than a year, so the ideal is to eliminate likely breeding sites and clean containers that are out in the open. In general, the yellow fever epidemics that have arisen around the world are due to the introduction of infected mosquitoes in large populations, where most of the inhabitants do not have immunity since they have not been vaccinated, it occurs in countries that are are under development and is directly related to the socioeconomic conditions of said population. However, there are effective prevention measures that would allow to control the problem such as vaccination, vector control (mosquitoes), and timely diagnosis. Symptoms and signs The symptoms and signs of this pathology are usually highly variable, in some cases it can become asymptomatic or have mild manifestations, while in other cases the symptoms can be severe, causing hemorrhagic fever and the mortality rate in these cases usually reaches up to 50%. General symptoms that occur during yellow fever virus infection: · Fever · Headaches · Jaundice (yellowing of skin and mucous membranes) · Muscle pains · Sickness · Vomiting · Fatigue How the disease evolves The evolution of the disease goes through three characteristic periods: · Infection: it is also known as the viremic phase, since the patient is a source of infection. It appears 3 to 6 days after the mosquito bite, it corresponds to the beginning of the appearance of symptoms, which is usually torpid or spontaneous. The fever is high, usually greater than 39 degrees Celsius, chills, headache, nausea, general malaise, muscle aches and Faget's sign which refers to a decrease in heart rate with an increase in temperature. · Remission: this period lasts from 1 to 2 days, and corresponds to the disappearance of the virus. The symptoms begin to disappear and many of the patients begin to improve, this process usually lasts between 2 and 4 weeks. Although this does not happen in all patients, many of them suffer a relapse, where the symptoms appear again and in a much stronger way, giving rise to the third period of the disease. · Intoxication: in this stage the symptoms and signs are much more serious, the patient has jaundice, severe abdominal pain, bleeding from the nose, gums and rectum. At this time the liver and kidneys begin to fail so the patient will urinate very little or In very severe cases there may be heart and brain involvement. Treatment There is no specific treatment for this infection, only symptomatic treatment, so absolute rest, use of a mosquito net, administration of paracetamol or acetaminophen should be indicated when the patient has fever and pain, omit any other analgesic or anti-inflammatory that may contribute to the reduction of platelets and therefore increases the risk of bleeding, the patient must be evaluated daily to detect possible complications. It is important to educate the patient and family members. Mosquito bites should be avoided for at least the first 5 days of the illness, since the patient is a reservoir for the virus and can cause its spread. Possible complications and warning signs (bleeding, jaundice, decreased amount of urine) should also be indicated. Patients with severe symptoms are hospitalized as they need advanced therapy that includes provision of fluids, drugs, oxygen, and monitoring of each organ and system. It may help to use topical pain relievers or take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. Stay physically active and follow a fitness program focusing on moderate exercise. Stretch before exercising to maintain a good range of motion in your joints. Keep your body weight within a healthy range. This will lessen stress on the joints. If your pain isn’t due to arthritis, you can try taking a nonprescription, anti-inflammatory drug, getting a massage, taking a warm bath, stretching frequently, and getting adequate rest. The typhoid fever is a disease through contaminated food and water with the bacterium Salmonella typhi. Its infection begins from the intestine and spreads throughout the body, which generates multiple gastrointestinal and systemic symptoms, and can have several relevant consequences in the lives of patients. The complications of typhoid fever range from abscesses in various organs (caused by the spread and colonization of the bacteria) to intestinal perforation, bleeding, and infections of the central nervous system (meningitis), which can be fatal. Although this disease does not have its own characteristic symptoms, there are endemic regions in America (especially Latin America), Africa, Asia and Oceania, where typhoid fever should be considered as a differential diagnosis in the presence of fever, constipation, cough, abdominal pain and enlargement of the liver and spleen, associated with muscle and joint pain. To avoid the complications of typhoid fever, the doctor must initiate timely treatment. How to treat typhoid fever? It is important that when typhoid fever is suspected, the patient consults the doctor as soon as possible, in order to start antibiotic treatment immediately. The treatment of typhoid fever is based on treating its symptoms and also eliminating the bacteria that are causing the condition. If the suspicion is high, due to the complications that typhoid fever can generate, the doctor should start an early antibiotic treatment, which should not be delayed while waiting for the confirmatory tests. The antibiotic treatment of typhoid fever usually consists of the combination of third generation cephalosporin such as ceftriaxone associated with quinolones such as ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin (when there is no allergy to these antibiotics and if no bacterial resistance has been demonstrated in the region of where you go to the patient). Other therapeutic options over the years have been chloramphenicol, amoxicillin, trimethopin sulfamethoxazole, and azithromycin, but in some places the bacteria have shown resistance to these treatments. The duration of treatment will depend on the severity, extending from 10 to 14 days. In severe cases, antibiotic therapy should be extended to drugs with a broad therapeutic spectrum, in combination, using fourth-generation cephalosporin or carbapenems (such as imipenem). On the other hand, the use of steroids in seriously ill patients is controversial, since some studies indicate that it reduces mortality in patients with Salmonella typhi meningitis, while other studies show that there are no statistical differences. How to avoid complications of typhoid fever? The main way to avoid typhoid fever complications is to receive timely and early treatment, as well as multidisciplinary care that includes the internist, the infectious disease doctor and, if necessary, the surgeon. For those patients with hospitalization criteria, together with antibiotic treatment, nutritional support is described with a soft oral diet (if it is not contraindicated) and the use of intravenous hydration. Hospitalized patients with typhoid fever should be isolated in the acute stage of the disease, restricting the number of visits from those close to them, and proper elimination of their feces and urine should be guaranteed, so that it cannot infect other people. For hospitalized patients with intestinal perforation, surgery should be performed that involves draining and washing the peritoneal cavity and repairing the perforated intestinal segment. This surgery should be done emergency, in order to avoid peritonitis and a state of abdominal starting point sepsis. In patients with typhoid fever, daily medical surveillance should be carried out in order to detect neurological changes that could correspond to symptoms of meningitis early. Another point to take into account to avoid complications of typhoid fever is that the doctor must request blood, stool and urine cultures, which determine the sensitivity of the bacteria to the antibiotic that has been decided to use. If the bacteria shows any resistance to the treatment used, then a substitute that is adapted to the sensitivity of the germ should be indicated. How to avoid typhoid infection? In view of the fact that typhoid fever is a disease that is transmitted via the fecal - oral route (through water, food and hands contaminated with feces containing the bacteria), the recommendations are based on the correct handling of food, the consumption of water drinking and hand washing (before eating and after evacuating). In addition, it is recommended not to consume frozen or canned food after the expiration date of its preservation. Correct cooking of foods such as eggs, meat, seafood and chicken is also recommended. Diabetes is a fairly common lifestyle disease, but while it can’t be cured, it can be controlled. Diabetes arises due to abnormally high blood sugar levels. The insulin produced by the pancreas are responsible for maintaining glucose levels in the blood. Absence or insufficient production of insulin or an inability to properly utilise insulin causes diabetes. Glucose1 Pills Reviews

What makes a meal a "superfood"? With type 2 diabetes, it's not just about eating foods that are high in nutrients. To have a diabetes-friendly diet, you also need to include foods that help keep your blood sugar (glucose) levels under control. There is no single great food you can eat if you have type 2 diabetes. Instead, the best diet for type 2 diabetes is based on whole foods and is rich in fiber, protein, and a moderate amount of healthy carbohydrates. It's true that people with type 2 diabetes need to watch their carbohydrate intake, but they don't have to follow a low-carb fad diet either. Rather, the best diet for people with type 2 diabetes is a well-balanced diet that has a healthy amount of carbohydrates, healthy proteins and fats, and vegetables per meal. While changing your diet will not cure diabetes, it can reduce the risk of complications from type 2 diabetes, such as heart disease and neuropathy (nerve damage). Prioritizing a healthy eating plan is even more crucial today, with the pandemic situation. This is because people with diabetes are among the groups most at risk for complications from COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Keeping your blood glucose under control has never been more important, and food can play a role in that regard. In fact, your diet can affect type 2 diabetes in several ways, including glucose regulation, heart health, weight maintenance, and mood. Vitamin-rich foods for people with type 2 diabetes How can you tell a good meal from a bad one when it comes to managing diabetes? Try to find products that contain healthy fats and are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It's also crucial to eat a wide variety of foods to ensure you're getting a healthy mix of macronutrients, phytochemicals, and essential fatty acids. Researchers are also finding increasing evidence of links between diet and the development of type 2 diabetes. An article published in November studied the impact of nutrition on more than 64,000 women over 15 years. Researchers found that eating foods rich in antioxidants significantly reduced the risk of type 2 diabetes. Increasingly, these antioxidant-rich foods are called superfoods. "Superfoods" is a term used to describe nutrient-packed foods that may have more health benefits than other foods, however, it is not a medical term. Also, as you may realize, when it comes to diabetes, superfoods are all whole foods, unwrapped, which means they are not processed with added sugars, fats, or preservatives. Not sure where to start? Check out these tips for adding more superfoods to your diabetes diet! 1. Replace meat with beans and lentils to reduce your fat intake and increase fiber intake Beans, which are high in fiber and protein, are slowly digested in your body, making them great for controlling blood glucose levels on a type 2 diabetes diet. Just ¼ cup of any type of beans will provide as much protein as 25 grams of a meat protein equivalent. No matter what type of bean you choose, you'll also get a significant amount of your daily fiber needs in just one 1-cup serving. For example, according to the Mayo Clinic, 1 cup of baked beans offers 10 grams of fiber, while 1 cup of black beans has 15 g. Women need an average of 21 to 25 g of fiber per day, while men need 30 to 38 g. A high fiber diet is associated with a lower risk of various diseases, including type 2 diabetes, obesity, stroke, heart disease, and even some types of cancer. Just be sure to increase your fiber intake slowly and drink plenty of water to reduce diarrhea, according to the Mayo Clinic. Other legumes offer similar health benefits that are key in managing diabetes. In one study, Canadian researchers found that eating beans, chickpeas, and lentils was associated with better blood glucose control, lower blood pressure, and lower levels of cholesterol and triglycerides (fats found in the blood) in people with type 2 diabetes. Those qualities are important, as people with diabetes are at higher risk for heart problems than the general population, according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. Also, beans are good sources of magnesium and potassium. Diabetes is associated with magnesium deficiency, and potassium plays a role in further boosting heart health by helping regulate blood pressure, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 2. Eat salmon for omega-3 fatty acids Many types of shellfish are good for people with diabetes. According to the NIH, salmon, mackerel, tuna, sardines, and herring are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which promote heart health by helping to reduce blood fats called triglycerides. Just be sure to avoid or limit your consumption of fish with high levels of mercury, such as bluefin, swordfish, marlin, and horse mackerel, as outlined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Eating fish twice a week has other high-impact benefits: One study found that fish can protect people with diabetes from kidney problems. Fish is considered a suitable food during diabetes as part of a healthy and well-balanced diet. 3. Consider nuts as other sources of healthy fats Nuts, which are full of fiber and protein, are filling foods and contain high levels of unsaturated fats, the kind that contribute to HDL or "good" cholesterol, making them a very beneficial food for your heart health. But when it comes to stabilizing blood sugar, the polyunsaturated fats in nuts, like almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts, and pistachios, are especially beneficial. (As a note, peanuts are not tree nuts; they are legumes.) In a review and meta-analysis published, Canadian researchers analyzed data from 12 clinical trials and found that eating two servings of nuts a day reduced and stabilized blood sugar levels and unhealthy cholesterol (dyslipidemia) in people with type 2 diabetes and stabilized the metabolic syndrome. Healthy plant-based fats can improve lipid levels. It's best to include foods high in polyunsaturated fats to help lower the high cholesterol associated with high blood glucose. However, although these foods are healthy, they have a higher amount of calories, so it would be recommended to limit them to one serving per day. A serving is commonly defined as 28 grams or 35 peanuts, 24 almonds, 14 walnut halves, or 18 cashews. 4. Eat a handful of fresh blueberries for disease-fighting antioxidants While all berries contain high levels of antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber, blueberries can be one of the most beneficial for people who have or are at risk for type 2 diabetes. "Antioxidants" are a broad term used to describe a food that can help protect the body from damage. Antioxidants can be found in the vitamins in foods themselves, or even in their coloring. In general, the deeper the color, the higher the antioxidant content. In one study, researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health found that for every three servings of blueberries (as well as grapes and apples) eaten per week, people reduced their risk of type 2 diabetes by 26 percent compared to those who who ate less than one serving per month. The authors based their conclusions on longitudinal studies from previous clinical trials. High-fiber berries also have the added benefit of satisfying your sweet food craving without the need for added sugars. 5. Help yourself to broccoli side dishes to increase your intake of vitamins A and C A review of clinical studies found that a diet rich in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli can help reduce the risk of cancer. Broccoli, which is packed with antioxidants, is a good source of vitamin A and rich in vitamin C, two essential nutrients for anyone, regardless of whether they have a diagnosis of diabetes. 1 cup of cooked, pre-frozen broccoli (without added fat) supplies 93.8 micrograms (mcg) of vitamin A, or about 10 percent of the daily value (DV), and 73.4 milligrams (mg) of vitamin C, or about 82 percent of DV. Plus, containing 5.52 g of fiber (22 percent of the DV), broccoli is filling, making it a good choice for people trying to lose weight and manage type 2 diabetes. 6. If you have a potato craving, eat high-fiber sweet potatoes When it comes to foods for type 2 diabetes, not all potatoes are created equal. To keep your blood sugar levels under control, it's best to consume sweet potatoes, which are rich in fiber (eat the skin for more fiber), as well as a host of other vitamins. A medium-size boiled sweet potato (with no added fat during cooking) offers 3.75 g of fiber, or 15 percent of the DV. On the other hand, it is also important that you and your healthcare team determine how much starchy vegetables you can consume. Other starchy vegetables that you can eat in moderation are peas and corn. Another important thing to keep in mind is the cooking process. When boiled, sweet potatoes are a low-glycemic (GI) food, which means they won't spike your blood sugar as much as regular potatoes. 7. Include spinach and kale in your pasta and salads According to one review, eating 1 ½ cup of dark leafy greens, including spinach and kale, each day can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by 14 percent. Although the reason for this is not clear, it may be that green leafy vegetables have a protective effect, as they contain antioxidants such as vitamins A and C One cup of fresh, cooked kale (with no added fat) offers 879 mcg of vitamin A, or about 98 percent of the DV, and 52.9 mg of vitamin C, or about 58 percent of the DV. Leafy greens are also low in calories and carbohydrates (the same serving of kale has 36 calories and only 7.3 g of carbohydrates), which is great for people with type 2 diabetes. 8. Eat tomato to receive lycopene which is good for the heart There's nothing better than biting into a juicy ripe tomato, and luckily, people with diabetes don't have to forget about them. In fact, tomatoes are ideal for a diabetic diet. Foods like blueberries and tomatoes are rich in colorants and can be even richer in antioxidants, so they should be consumed regularly by people with diabetes. This superfood can help lower blood pressure and bad LDL cholesterol, which can lower your risk of heart disease. A report on a 10-year study suggested that lycopene, a key nutrient in tomatoes, may help reduce the risk of heart disease by 26 percent. Keep in mind that your body will be able to absorb more lycopene from cooked tomatoes than from raw ones. 9. Try Greek yogurt for more protein and other nutrients The creamy and delicious yogurt is a rich source of calcium, protein and magnesium. It can also provide valuable probiotics that, according to a study, can help reduce the risk of weight gain and obesity, as well as cardiovascular disease. Opt for Greek yogurt; It is slightly higher in protein than plain yogurt, which will keep you feeling full for longer. 1 cup of nonfat Greek yogurt offers 23g of protein, while the same serving of nonfat plain yogurt contains 14g of protein. Read nutrition labels carefully and avoid any Greek yogurt products that have added sugars. Your best bet is to choose plain, fat-free versions and add some berry sweetness to it. 10. Get your monounsaturated fats from heart-healthy avocados Known for their heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, avocados top the charts in terms of health benefits. According to one review, avocados can help lower cholesterol, promote blood pressure control, and reduce inflammation, thanks to their high fiber, potassium, and lutein content. One serving of avocado (one-third of a medium-size avocado, or 50 g) has 80 calories, 6 g of healthy fats, and a variety of vitamins and minerals. Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that's found in all the cells in your body. Your liver makes cholesterol, and it is also in some foods, such as meat and dairy products. Your body needs some cholesterol to work properly. But if you have too much cholesterol in your blood, you have a higher risk of coronary artery disease. Oxidized Cholesterol Strategy

Today, it is not clear if a man's nutrition affects his ability to develop prostate cancer, however, several nutritional interventions are promising to help prevent this type of cancer, most possibly related to Lycopene, a reddish pigment that gives color to fruits and vegetables. A man has a 1 in 5 chance of developing prostate cancer in his lifetime. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer, just after the skin cancer, this according to information provided by the Society American of the cancer. The men with the highest risk of suffering from this disease are those over 50 years of age, African-American, or those with a family history (father, brother), who have suffered from prostate cancer. How is prostate cancer detected? An analysis, blood test called PSA (antigen prostate specific), is commonly used to identify prostate problems, which is a gland of the size of a walnut, which is part of the system player male. The high levels of PSA indicate that the prostate can be inflamed, infected or increased, but even with these conditions, it may or may not indicate the presence of cancer, so other recommended tests and otherdiagnostics, such as a biopsy. Research has revealed that eating a vegetarian diet can exert some protection against prostate cancer and although this kind of diet sounds promising, it is not in itself something that completely prevents the appearance of this condition, but it is highly recommended for its prevention and for other diseases. Part of this benefit may be thanks to lycopene, a reddish pigment that colors fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, apricots or apricots, guava and watermelons. Red foods rich in lycopene Recent research has shown that lycopene helps lower PSA levels and decrease the risk of developing prostate cancer. While lycopene is found naturally in a OOD, some studies have shown the benefits of using supplements of lycopene. However, when we eat foods high in lycopene, those with red pulp, we also receive a lot of other nutrients that work together to fight cancer. List of red foods to prevent prostate cancer The main foods that contain lycopene are foods with reddish pigment, however there are also other fruits and vegetables that contain it: • Tomatoes • Red pepper • Watermelon • Plums • Papaya • Apricots • Grapefruit • Carrots • Asparagus By the way, lycopene from foods cooked with a little oil is better absorbed into the body than those eaten raw. The tomatoes cooked in oil of olive, for example, release more lycopene in the body than raw tomatoes. The vitamin D is another nutrient of interest in the fight against prostate cancer. This vitamin in hormones, can have a protective effect on the cells of the gland of the prostate, this according to various cancer research institutes. Some studies have found that men with prostate cancer who were treated with vitamin D experience low levels of PSA in the blood; Although other studies have not shown the same benefit, however, a recent review article concluded that Vitamin D-based therapies for Prostate cancer may soon be a medical practice. Caution: Vitamin D can be very toxic when taken in doses greater than 10,000 IU (International Units) per day for a period of many years. Always consult your doctor, before starting any type of nutrition therapy. The keto diet is customized to regulate the insulin spike. Even a balanced low-calorie meal with moderate macromolecule can turn out glucose and thereby push the duct gland to provide insulin. “This diet excludes all food classes that may be copied to make a lot of glucose than the body needs to take care of its regular blood glucose level (80-110mg/dl). It is very common for the belly to swell after eating. Due in large part, to problems in the movements of the muscles in the digestive tract. This swelling can cause undesirable pain in the abdominal region, and in many people, symptoms of constant abdominal distention tend to occur, which can give the appearance of fat when in fact it is bloating. However, great care must be taken as sometimes this swelling can be due to other more serious health problems. It can also be due to an unbalanced diet. Other cases are intolerance to certain foods or some elements of the food. Methods to help you avoid looking fat due to bloating To eliminate and avoid the annoying symptoms of a swollen belly, we show you the best methods that will help you enjoy a healthier life. 1. Eat small amounts of food First you should have the habit of consuming food in small portions. In turn, drink liquids slowly. This in order to give time for the meals to be processed properly. In many cases, people who have bloating and inflammation during and after main meals are those who have poor chewing or bad habits of talking a lot while eating and taking constant sips of liquid. 2. Probiotics Foods that contain probiotics should be part of our diet. Among its benefits when consuming them are: they help digestion, flora, intestinal transit and any digestive ailment. They are widely used when there are problems of bloating and gas accumulation. 3. Eradicate foods that lead to food intolerance and allergies It is common for swelling to be caused by allergies to some foods. Usually gluten, lactose, fructose, and even eggs can cause allergies and intolerances in some people. To eliminate any possible belly inflammation, it is necessary to eradicate these types of components from our diet. 4. Eliminate fatty foods The fats in our body are very negative in all aspects, not only does it cause us bloating in the belly. That would be the least of the problems, since they also increase cholesterol, produce diabetes, obesity and the risk of heart attacks is greater. 5. Avoid drinks that contain sugar To avoid bloating and digestive problems, it is essential to limit and even completely avoid sugary drinks. Sodas, energy drinks, even some liqueurs have a large amount of sugar that is harmful to the digestive tract. The appearance that extended consumption of these drinks can cause is that of a bulging and expanded belly 6. Low FODMAP diet FODMAPs are indigestible carbohydrates that can cause or worsen intestinal symptoms, leading to constant inflammation of the abdomen. Some of these foods that contain these carbohydrates are watermelons, pears, beans, and broccoli. Eating a low-FODMAPS diet will help minimize, even eliminate, the symptoms of a bloated belly. 7. Fight constipation When constipated this worsens the present symptoms of persistent inflammation. There are several ways to deal with constipation, such as trying to improve the magnesium levels in our body. Therefore, if we manage to minimize the constipation conditions, we will also relieve the symptoms of abdominal distention. 8. Intake of gases Mostly the gases contained in our colon are due to the ingestion of gases through certain drinks or foods. Fizzy drinks, chewing gum or sucking on candy cause a large amount of air to enter which ends up causing gas, which gives our body a more voluminous appearance than normal. 9. Digestive supplements There are digestive supplements that can help us keep our stomach healthy and thus avoid all the discomfort that abdominal distention entails. Among these supplements are tonics that help stimulate the digestive tract. There are also enzymes that break down digested food. An erection problem occurs when a man cannot get or keep an erection that is firm enough for intercourse. You may not be able to get an erection at all. Or, you may lose the erection during intercourse before you are ready. Erection problems do not usually affect your sex drive. Erection problems are common. Almost all adult men have trouble getting or keeping an erection at one time or another. Often the problem goes away with little or no treatment. But for some men, it can be an ongoing problem. This is called erectile dysfunction (ED). Aizen Power

The summer heat can be uncomfortable for many people, but if you're unusually overwhelmed by sudden sweating and feeling hot most of the time, it can be signs of not just menopause, but thyroid problems. Sudden hot flashes can be thyroid problems Your thyroid actually serves as your body's thermostat, regulating your body temperature along with your energy intake and hunger levels. So even when temperatures start to rise, the weather may not be the only reason why you feel unusually hot and have a great deal of sweat. Also, when your thyroid is not working properly, these are just the beginning of the symptoms you may experience. Persistent fatigue and moodiness are also common signs of thyroid problems. Fortunately, there are ways to balance your hormones naturally, such as changing your diet, reducing stress, and increasing your intake of certain nutrients. Also, for people who seem to be particularly sensitive to heat, there are easy ways to stay cool all summer long. Temperature intolerance and thyroid dysfunction: what is the relationship? Among the many important roles in the human body, the thyroid gland controls body temperature, and you normally experience different physical reactions to hot and cold temperatures, depending on the levels of thyroid hormone your body is producing. Essentially, thyroid hormone (a collective term used to describe the many hormones that the thyroid gland produces) increases the rate of metabolism and heat production, while also increasing oxygen consumption and stimulating enzymes, which explains its effect. thermogenic in the body. When it comes to your thyroid health, there are two main conditions that you can experience (although there may be other problems). With hypothyroidism, which is the most common type of thyroid problem, the thyroid is underactive. This means that the thyroid is not producing enough thyroid hormone, slowing down the body (and its normal functions). Do you feel cold all the time? People with hypothyroidism generally have an increased sensitivity to cold temperatures, often feel cold, and may have skin that feels cool to the touch. Hypothyroidism can also cause fatigue, dry hair and skin, mental confusion, unexplained weight gain, digestive problems, and muscle weakness. Although it is commonly known as hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's disease is actually a little different because it is not a lack of thyroid hormone that causes the symptoms. Instead, the antibodies react against proteins in the thyroid gland, causing the gradual destruction of the entire thyroid gland. Do you feel hot all the time? Hyperthyroidism, on the other hand, causes the opposite effect of hypothyroidism because the body produces too much thyroid hormone. Higher thyroid hormone levels speed up your body's processes, which can increase your heartbeat, make you sweat, and cause hot flashes. Signs of thyroid problems in people with an overactive thyroid usually have warm, clammy skin to the touch, and they tend to sweat more and feel very uncomfortable in the heat. In general, it is more common for people with hyperthyroidism to experience thyroid "hot flashes" because their bodies are in overdrive. But any change in thyroid hormone can lead to temperature intolerance, so it is important to balance these hormone levels to react normally to hot and cold temperatures. Let's take a closer look at how to do that: How to Balance Hormones and Avoid Thyroid "Hot Flashes" 1. Change your diet To maintain thyroid hormone levels, you should focus on eating a nutrient-dense diet with anti-inflammatory foods and healthy fats. If you have hot flashes due to a thyroid imbalance, focus on eating foods rich in selenium, such as Brazil nuts, spinach, organic grass-fed beef, turkey and chicken, and eggs. Eating foods high in B vitamins will also help, including organic animal protein and organic yogurt. In addition to eating foods that are high in these key nutrients, focus on limiting your carbohydrate intake and increasing your intake of healthy fats. This will help reduce inflammation and balance your hormones naturally. Some of the best options for healthy fats include wild salmon, coconut oil, walnuts, and chia seeds. You should also try cutting out processed and packaged foods that can be highly inflammatory and disrupt your hormonal balance. 2. Reduce stress levels ASAP You've probably heard about how emotional and physical stress can be detrimental to your health, and it's true. When we suffer from persistent stress or feel overworked, our bodies are in a constant "fight or flight" state that wreaks havoc on our adrenal and thyroid glands. If you feel like you have a thyroid problem and know that stress may be at least part of the cause, make a serious effort to reduce this mental and physical strain. Try some natural stress relievers, such as exercising, taking a walk in nature, taking time for yourself, meditating, and getting enough rest each night. L-carnitine test: L-carnitine is a type of amino acid that plays a central role in energy production. Research shows that l-carnitine can inhibit the entry of thyroid hormones into cell nuclei, which can be beneficial for people with hyperthyroidism. A pilot study found that l-carnitine and selenium significantly reduced hyperthyroid symptoms and improved quality of life for patients. 3. Stay cool If you are prone to hot flashes, especially during the hotter summer months, make an effort to stay cool by drinking plenty of water, eating hydrating foods, and avoiding direct sunlight on very hot days. You should also review your medications, as some of them (including antibiotics, antidepressants, antihistamines, medications for blood pressure and cholesterol, diuretics and laxatives) can impair your ability to deal with high temperatures. Coconut oil Trusted Source contains fatty acids that penetrate inside the hair shaft and reduce protein loss from hair. Coconut oil can be used either before or after you wash your hair depending on your hair type. If your hair tends to be oily, you can do a leave-in treatment overnight or for a few hours before you wash it. Massage coconut oil into your scalp and all of your hair. If your hair is dry, you can also use it as a leave-in treatment. There needs to be more research on coconut oil as a promoter of hair growth, but it’s been shown to improve the health and luster of hair and has been used for centuries. TressAnew

Children will be children. Sometimes it can be difficult to distinguish in a child uncomfortable behaviors from more serious and mentally unstable behaviors that can affect their well-being. However, as a parent, you may feel that something is wrong with your child. Do you even suspect that your child would benefit from mental health treatment or therapy? Don't ignore these vibrations. Children often do not talk about the mental and emotional problems they are going through, so it is up to you to recognize these problems and get them help. When talking to them doesn't work, it's time to seek professional help. 10 signs you should seek mental health therapy for your child According to psychology researcher Courtney E. Ackerman, MSc. Here are ten signs that counselors say your child needs mental health therapy. 1. Constant depression This red flag is one of the most common mental disorders so it is not surprising that a child suffers from it. There are so many factors in life that can contribute to a child feeling depressed and hopeless, and they may not all be obvious. However, it is important to recognize depression as early as possible so that you can give your child the mental help he needs before something disastrous happens. These feelings should not be confused with fleeting moments of sadness. That is completely normal. However, if your child's sad moments persist for weeks or months, this is a main clue that something is not right. Some signs to watch out for are negative thinking, extreme self-criticism, feelings of being unloved or unpleasant, or overreacting to minor problems. 2. Missing school Skipping school is often a significant indicator that something is wrong with a child. It could be that they are exceptionally low, as discussed in the previous section. Children may have problems at home or feel unsafe at school. It could also be a combination of any of these situations. Whatever the reason, missing school is a sign that something is happening with your child. While the direct reason could be physical, such as bullying for example, you can be sure that it is having some harmful mental effects on your child. You should get mental help for your child so that he can get to the bottom of problems. 3. Bad behavior at school Just as missing school is an indicator of trouble, so is bad behavior at school. Children may not know how to express how they feel about certain things, or they may feel embarrassed to express themselves. This confusion can cause children to "misbehave." The best way to get to the root of your child's bad behavior is to talk to him. Children often misbehave because they don't understand the lessons, but they are very embarrassed that their peers find out. If this is the problem, it is easy to fix. However, if more things happen, seeking mental help for your child may be the best way to find out why he is misbehaving. 4. Out-of-control behavior It can be incredibly difficult and frustrating to deal with a child who has out-of-control behavior. You may have seen this in public before - that parent who has a child who yells at, hits, or destroys the store displays because he can't get what he wants. Hopefully, you are not the parent who is dealing with it. Unfortunately, children who display this type of behavior do so because the father has not asserted himself as the authority figure. Children have lost respect for parents and feel that they can do whatever they want without consequences as parents generally do not implement any consequences. The problem with this is that the child grows up with this false mentality. As teens and adults, this out-of-control behavior can lead to constant trouble and severe hopelessness. That is why it is important to get mental help for the child (and probably also for the parents) when they are out of control at a young age. 5. Hurting themselves or others It is never normal to get hurt. In most cases, it is not normal to hurt others. If your child is doing this, you should rush to get him psychological help. This type of behavior can escalate and will increase if it is not taken care of immediately. It can be dangerous for parents, but especially dangerous for any other child around. Don't delay in giving a violent child the help he needs. 6. Talk about death or suicide Kids say weird things, but talking about suicide should never be one of them. The teen suicide rate lately is being alarming. It is the second leading cause of death for 15–24-year-olds. If your child mentions something about death or the end of his life or something vague like that it will no longer be your problem, stop what you are doing and get him help. This type of conversation means that they are dealing with some other serious underlying problem (most likely depression) and do not know how to handle it. 7. Frequent mood swings It is normal for children to have mood swings. However, you should start to worry if the mood swings are frequent or interfere with the child's daily life. If this is the case, your child is in trouble. There can be quite a few reasons why a child has frequent mood swings. Being extremely sad or hopeless is one of those reasons, but it could be related to a different underlying cause. Some examples are ADHD (attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder), bipolar disorder, and dysthymic disorder. Unless you're a medical professional, you won't be able to diagnose your child on your own. Mental health therapy can identify any problems your child may have and provide them with a treatment plan that will help them live a daily and productive life. 8. Strange eating patterns Children with mental health problems may display strange eating habits, such as not eating enough or overeating. It is normal for children to fluctuate in the amount they eat: they are growing and their bodies are “getting used to” the nutrition they need as they grow. However, if you notice extreme fluctuations, it is a sign that your child may need some mental health therapy Extreme can be defined as significant weight gain or loss; a sudden disinterest in your favorite foods; Sneaking meals or snacks after they've eaten, or relying on food to deal with their emotions. If these behaviors are not addressed, it can lead to problems such as anorexia, bulimia, or obesity. This habit will only make your child even more mentally distressed. When you notice that your child has strange eating habits, feel free to find out why. If she doesn't want to talk to you about it, get her help before her physical health becomes a problem too. 9. Difficulty sleeping Trouble sleeping is a classic sign of mental distress. While it's normal for children to have dreams or even nightmares from time to time, they shouldn't interfere with your child's life. Once they cross the threshold of vivid dreams or night terrors, it's time to figure out what's going on mentally with your child to disrupt their sleep so much. Counselors explain that vivid dreams and night terrors are often manifestations of painful emotions that your child is dealing with internally, but may not be expressing while awake. Mental health therapy can get to the bottom of these unexpressed emotions, and hopefully the vivid dreams and night terrors will stop. If this problem is not resolved, it can lead to other problems while they are awake such as anxiety, fatigue, irritability and more. Don't ignore your child's dreams and nightmares if they become excessive. 10. Drug or alcohol abuse It is not pleasant to think of a child or adolescent who abuses drugs or alcohol, but unfortunately, this is a common reality in today's world. It may come from being with the wrong people, but there is usually some underlying mental or emotional issue that makes them choose that path in the first place. If your child is abusing drugs or alcohol, you should give him the best mental health therapy he can afford. Drug and alcohol abuse can ruin a child's life. Often begging and begging them to stop doesn't work. Reasoning with them will not work. It only works to get to the root of the problem, and children often feel uncomfortable trusting their parents. Receiving mental health therapy may be the only way to get back on track. Final thoughts As a parent, you want the best for your child. It can be incredibly difficult to decipher what's going on in your child's head. After all, you are not a psychic and no one expects you to be. The best thing to do is be vigilant. Look for signs like the ones above suggested by counselors, and when you see them, act. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) indicates that an excellent starting point is to talk with your child's teachers and counselors at school. Keep in mind that their mental health is essential too, and having anxiety about your child's mental health can affect yours. It's okay to have family mental health therapy. In fact, that could be a great way to let your child know that they are not alone. Living a diabetic life is a challenge. You need to constantly monitor your diet and ensure that your blood sugar level is well under control. One of the major diseases affecting millions and millions of people in the country today, diabetes is life-long and deadly. It is a condition when the hormone called insulin that is produced by the pancreas is unable to break down glucose into energy, and as such, the blood sugar level increases in the body. What one eats plays a crucial role for diabetics, and monitoring it constantly along with following regular meal schedule ca help tremendously. Physical activity is a must too to ensure that insulin is utilized by the body. Nucentix GS-85

If you have end-stage renal disease (ESRD), then you may have heard of the innovative new treatment in the works that uses an artificial kidney. Bring a ray of hope to those who have suffered waiting for a donor. Is this artificial body part the answer to a major medical dilemma? Your kidneys are a feat of biological engineering that keeps your blood clean with countless tiny filters called nephrons. After filtration, they send waste to the bladder to be eliminated as urine. Without your kidneys, your body would be poisoned and could not live. Medical experts have expressed concern about the dangers of the Western lifestyle. They point to the alarming obesity epidemic caused by poor diet and lack of physical activity. All of these factors lead to an increase in chronic kidney failure and failure. The relationship between kidney disease and other diseases Did you know that recent reports show that at least 15 percent of adults in the US alone have kidney disease? The number is probably more significant because many people have poorly functioning kidneys that have not yet been diagnosed. Sadly, chronic kidney disease is among the top deadly diseases in the modern world. Since your body systems are interrelated, it makes sense for a disorder in one to affect your entire body. The kidneys are not only part of your urinary system, but they are also a vital part of your circulatory system. Diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels will also cause kidney problems. Hypertension Hypertension, also called high blood pressure, is a disease that puts too much pressure on the arteries and veins. Since your kidneys are the central station for blood filtration, its many nephrons are loaded with blood vessels that carry blood from one place to another. Hypertension can damage these blood vessels and lead to chronic kidney disease. Diabetes Chronic kidney disease and kidney failure are classic comorbidities of diabetes. Think of your blood vessels as water pipes. If the water pipes in your home become overloaded with silt and other sediment, it will eventually damage them. If you have uncontrolled diabetes, the excess sugar in your blood will do the same to your blood vessels. It can clog or even block vital blood vessels in the kidneys, resulting in kidney damage and improper blood filtration. Obesity Obesity is a common denominator for both high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. It is perhaps the most preventable condition that can lead to end-stage kidney disease or kidney failure. A proper diet and exercise regimen can destroy fat and minimize risks. Signs and symptoms of chronic kidney disease If you have diabetes, hypertension, or other medical conditions, you may be at risk for chronic kidney disease or end-stage kidney failure. Some of these signs and symptoms overlap with other conditions, so you should see your GP for a proper diagnosis. Here are some common symptoms: · Change in appetite and unexplained weight loss. · Change in sleep patterns · Edema in the hands, feet, or ankles due to water retention. · Dyspnoea (shortness of breath) · Blood in the urine. · Muscle cramps. · Increased need to urinate, especially at night. · Constant itching of the skin. · Feeling dizzy or headaches · Lack of sexual performance in male patients. There is no easy solution when your kidneys fail. When dialysis is no longer enough, kidney patients must rely on a transplant. These can be taken from a living donor or from a deceased organ donor. Neither of these options is available largely because donor kidneys must be the perfect match for transplant surgery to be successful. It is difficult to find living donors who give a kidney to a stranger, and not all people with viable kidneys that die are registered organ donors. It's no wonder the waiting list for a kidney transplant is so long because the demand exceeds the supply. Kidney patients often die while waiting for a transplant, as their bodies cannot live long without at least one properly functioning kidney. The wait for a kidney transplant can take years and these patients do not have enough time. Even if they are lucky enough to have transplant surgery, they can die from organ rejection or other complications. The evolution of kidney dialysis If you have chronic kidney disease and your kidneys are failing, your only hope of survival is dialysis. After caring for his many kidney patients and observing their death rate, he correctly concluded that their blood could be artificially filtered to prolong their lives. He brought his invention to the United States and presented it to the kidney specialists at Mt. Sinai Hospital. His work brought limited success to patients with kidney failure, but his artificial kidney machine was unable to help those with end-stage renal disease or ESRD. It worked through a port that drew blood from the patient's arm through the filtering machine and then pumped the clean blood back to the patient. Scribner's portable device allowed kidney patients to perform dialysis from the comfort of home. Today, most people go to a dedicated dialysis center for treatment rather than doing the process at home. These centers are located in most of the major private hospitals and clinics in the United States. People with kidney failure or end-stage renal disease usually receive 3- to 4-hour dialysis treatments at least one to three times a week, and sometimes daily for severe cases. The cons of kidney dialysis Yes, this artificial kidney filtration can prolong the life of the kidney patient. However, it is a temporary treatment for symptoms and cannot cure kidney failure. If you are a dialysis patient, it is difficult to have a normal schedule because you are connected to the artificial kidney for hours a week. Kidney patients must take many medications to minimize their symptoms, and some of these medications can have significant side effects. Dialysis is an expensive treatment and most private insurance plans will only cover a percentage of the cost. The other percentage left for the patient to pay can be overwhelming and can cause serious financial problems. The artificial kidney is simply a dressing for kidney failure and end-stage kidney disease. Of the estimated 468,000 Americans on dialysis each year, about 20-25 percent will survive their first year of treatment. Only about 35 percent will live more than five years. The birth of bionics For now, the only treatment options for patients with kidney disease is a transplant or dialysis. While the chances of survival are much better for transplant recipients, patients often die while waiting on the long list. Dialysis can prolong the life of these patients, but they often lose quality of life and have a small margin of survival. With dilemmas like these, advanced technology may be the key to a better solution. Remember the iconic TV show about the man and woman who were rebuilt with bionic parts? What was then science fiction is a reality in the 21st century. Of course, current medical technology has yet to produce a super-powered human being, but bionic parts have revolutionized health and medicine. The first artificial organ, a bionic heart, was successfully transplanted. Advances in bioengineering continue to find artificial solutions for other organ transplants, such as an artificial kidney. Final thoughts on the artificial kidney project You may have already heard of the conglomerate of American kidney experts and bioengineers called the Kidney Project if you are a kidney patient. Its goal is to replace traditional dialysis with a bionic kidney that is transplanted into the body of patients. It is a complex marriage of the human body and the machine that can offer quality of life and more time to kidney patients. This innovative artificial kidney debuted during National Kidney Week at the American Society of Nephrology. The Kidney Project focuses on the University of California-San Francisco Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine, with Shuvo Roy as project director. Roy and his associates have a positive outlook on the success of the bionic kidney. Instead of connecting kidney patients to a traditional dialysis machine, this artificial kidney will be surgically transplanted into their bodies. It will use high-tech filters to remove toxins from the blood, just like a human kidney. The device is still in its development stage and may go into clinical trials with FDA approval, which experts hope will be soon. Chronic kidney disease is serious and can affect your quality of life and even cause premature death. If the new artificial kidney is successful and approved, it may be a ray of hope for kidney patients around the world. If you follow a healthy lifestyle and have regular check-ups with your GP, you may be able to keep your kidneys happy and healthy for many years. Your weight will vary day to day as much as several pounds due to normal fluctuations in body water. So looking at your weight from one day to the next, or even one week to the next, does not accurately reflect weight loss. Dietary influences are just some of what can impact the number on the scale, whether a true weight change or just normal day-to-day fluctuations. Medications, hormones, exercise, and body composition changes additionally influence weight. Keto Genx

If you feel like your winter is a long and prolonged cold season, you are certainly not alone. Yes, you could be more prone to colds than other people, but there are also a number of things you could be doing that increase your chances of health problems, as well as passing your germs to other people. If you always seem to have a cold, pay attention because it could be due to these 10 reasons. "The common cold is very communicable,". “Their viruses (generally rhinoviruses) spread a lot by contact and through the air; you can catch someone's sneeze simply with your breath. " Typical symptoms include a stuffy nose, sore throat, body aches, headaches, sneezing, and mild fever. (The flu, another type of respiratory illness, will cause similar symptoms, but they will be more frequent and intense.) Always having a cold and its 10 possible causes 1. You don't wash your hands enough The way to prevent colds is to wash your hands with traditional soap and water. Hand washing should last 20 seconds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If you find yourself in a situation where you are not sure if you really need to wash your hands. The CDC lists a few times when it is essential: · Before, during and after preparing food · Before eating food · Before and after caring for someone who is sick · Before and after treating a cut or wound · After using the bathroom · After changing diapers or cleaning a child who has used the bathroom · After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing · After touching an animal, animal food, or animal waste · After handling pet food or pet treats · After touching trash 2. Touching your face a lot causes you to get the flu more often If your hands are germ-free and you're touching your face, you're significantly increasing your risk of getting sick. That's because flu viruses enter your body through your eyes, nose, and mouth. Maintain a hands-off policy - it's better for your skin too. 3. You are not getting enough sleep Your immune system cannot fight the infection caused by the cold virus if you are not getting enough sleep. "Getting plenty of rest, sleep, and eating a healthy diet helps the immune system resist these infections when they circulate. Adults need at least seven hours of sleep a night. Not sleeping well is one of the causes of always having a cold, so if that is happening to you, begin to improve your sleep habits and you will most likely begin to regain your health. 4. You are dehydrated could have you with constant flu The importance of hydration, whether you are trying to prevent a cold or fight one. While there isn't much research to show that drinking extra fluids will help you beat a cold, dehydration weakens your immune system and makes you more susceptible to colds. Staying adequately hydrated (about 15.5 cups of water per day for men and 11.5 cups for women) helps the body function at its best. 5. Having underlying allergies makes the flu worse When allergies are causing a stuffy nose, even a mild cold can feel excruciating. "If someone has a dust allergy, for example, they might have more nasal obstruction in general. "A little cold will feel a lot worse." If your cold doesn't seem to improve within the standard time frame (usually 7-10 days), such as an ENT doctor or allergist to identify the source of your symptoms. 6. Your work constantly exposes you to germs When you're surrounded by dozens of sneezing kids who aren't that good at covering their mouths or washing their hands, you probably get sick. Teachers are always going to have more colds. "For some people, the risk of getting the flu comes down to their work environment." Working in daycare, an office, or traveling frequently for business can also increase your risk of getting sick. Obviously, you can't just change jobs, so be vigilant when it comes to washing your hands - even using alcohol-based hand sanitizer can help keep your hands clean in a pinch. 7. Being in closed rooms causes constant colds Whether you're at work or not, you probably spend more time around other people during cold and flu season. "We tend to spend more time indoors during the winter, sharing germs with each other through coughing and sneezing. T he best way to combat this is with adequate sleep and hydration. Daily breaks in times of confinement for winter, and if you are having heavy work days, makes the immune system work better, that will avoid constant decay with colds of which many people are victims. 8. You are exercising less The importance of sweating every day. Regular moderate exercise, even just a daily walk, can improve immune health. In a study published in the American Journal of Medicine, researchers found that overweight women who exercised moderately for 45 minutes five days a week contracted significantly fewer colds over the course of the year than women who simply stretched for 45 minutes once a week. In fact, at the end of the study, the stretching group had a three times higher risk of catching a cold. Why? Exercising can increase the levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA) in saliva, an antibody found in mucus that is crucial for proper immune function, the researchers note. 9. You have a compromised immune system “Certain people who have compromised immune systems, either from a specific immune system disease, certain types of cancer that attack the immune system (such as lymphoma or leukemia), or who take medications that suppress the immune system (such as chemotherapy) they are more susceptible to infections, including colds. In the immune system can range from subtle to severe. This actually includes low levels of IgA in the blood, which puts you at a higher risk for respiratory infections. Of course, age also plays a role in the strength of your immune system and your ability to fight the flu. "Babies and the elderly are at much higher risk for more serious infections due to immune problems. How to prevent and treat a cold Besides washing your hands frequently and keeping them away from your face, there are other things you can do to prevent a cold: disinfect your phone and keyboard, find a time to relax and sleep well, and eat foods rich in vitamin D (like salmon, eggs, and fortified milk - all organic), zinc (like beef and fortified cereal), and probiotics will work wonders to combat constant colds in flu season. CBD can offer an alternative for people who have chronic pain and rely on medications, such as opioids, that can be habit-forming and cause more side effects. However, more research is needed to verify the pain-relieving benefits of CBD oil and other products. Epidiolex, a drug prescribed for epilepsy, is the only CBD product on the market that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved. There aren’t any FDA-approved, non prescription CBD products. Keoni CBD Gummies

If you drink thyme tea to help you get rid of the flu faster, add a tablespoon or two of raw honey to the tea once it has cooled down a bit. The antimicrobial content of thyme along with the healing properties of honey can help you feel better faster. Breathing in the scent of thyme can help treat bacterial throat infections naturally. Other scientific studies have shown that thyme helps eliminate oral pathogens that can cause infections. You can also gargle with thyme water to help heal tonsillitis and a sore throat. Researchers have found that gargles containing thyme help soothe the throat and maintain the mucous membranes. If you need to quickly get rid of a sore throat, use the inhalation method by putting thyme oil in your diffuser or inhaling the fumes. To gargle with thyme tea to help treat strep throat, put 2 teaspoons of dried thyme leaves in a cup of boiling water. Cover and let cool. Take a drink of thyme water and gargle for 1-2 minutes before spitting. Repeat 3 or 4 times a day until your sore throat improves. Thyme tea can help treat bronchitis Thyme's antibacterial, antispasmodic, and healing properties make it an effective remedy for bronchial infections. A study involving more than 360 bronchitis patients found that consuming thyme and primrose root drinks helped alleviate their symptoms. Researchers found that thyme natural remedy helped reduce the frequency and severity of coughing spells and break up mucus. Another study found that thyme and ivy leaf tea was helpful in treating bronchitis symptoms. Consume 3 to 4 cups of warm, soothing thyme tea daily to help treat symptoms of bronchitis. Thyme extracts can help reduce asthma symptoms and other respiratory symptoms. The results of other scientific studies have shown why thyme is good for treating asthma. Thyme compounds help reduce inflammation in the airways, address wheezing problems, and make breathing easier. You can try inhaling the aroma of thyme essential oil directly from the bottle or using it in a diffuser to help calm inflammation in the airways. In addition, drinking thyme tea regularly helps to relax the muscles of the respiratory system and to relieve the symptoms of an asthma attack. Thyme can treat food poisoning Drinking thyme tea made from dried or fresh leaves is good if you have eaten food infected with harmful microorganisms. Food poisoning occurs when bacteria or germs are ingested that cause inflammation, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Drinking a cup of strong thyme tea could help reduce abdominal cramps and also kill bacteria that cause infection. Studies have shown that thyme extracts have antimicrobial properties against many pathogens that cause food poisoning. Adding thyme to food can help prevent spoilage and contamination of food. Thyme compounds such as thymol and carvacrol also kill bacteria that can cause gastroenteritis (severe stomach irritation due to a viral or bacterial infection). Thyme helps treat diarrhea Thyme tea is a good, relaxing drink to drink if you suffer from loose or liquid stools. Drinking thyme tea for diarrhea helps keep you hydrated and also relaxes your colon muscles. Thyme essential oil has an anti-inflammatory effect on the colon. In some cases, the effects of the medicinal compounds in thyme help to relieve colitis symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. Because drinking thyme tea is good if you have food poisoning, thyme tea can help prevent diarrhea caused by contaminated food. Thyme Herbal Treatments for Yeast and Fungal Infections Thyme benefits also include the elimination of pathogenic fungi and fungi that can cause infections. Research has shown that the thyme compounds thymol and carvacrol have fungicidal properties. Some studies have shown that thyme can help kill pathogenic fungi that cause tuberculosis or other lung infections. Thyme essential oil can also kill yeast or Candida albicans fungus that can infect the gastrointestinal tract. In one study, thyme oil was as effective as tea tree oil in destroying harmful fungal infections. To help get rid of a yeast infection, add 3 drops of thyme oil to a tablespoon of virgin coconut oil. Soak a tampon in the coconut oil and thyme remedy and insert it into the vagina for an hour. Repeat every day to help reduce your yeast symptoms. Thyme to remove mold from rooms Another way that thyme can benefit your health is that it can destroy mold spores on your walls. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warn about the dangers of mold in the home. Mold can cause allergies, airway obstruction, asthma, and lung infections. You can easily get rid of mold using thyme essential oil against mold fungi. In one study, the thymol in thyme essential oil helped destroy mold spores in damp homes. The researchers concluded that thyme essential oil can disinfect the walls of mold spores. To get rid of mold spores in your home and prevent respiratory symptoms, make an anti-mold spray with thyme essential oil. Add 25 drops of thyme oil to 16 oz. spray bottle containing white vinegar or 3% hydrogen peroxide. Spray generously on surfaces that appear moldy and leave for 20 minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth to remove spores and kill mold. Alternatively, to use thyme essential oil to help prevent mold growth in a room, place a few drops of thyme oil in a diffuser. Thyme can help reduce anxiety Another of the many health benefits of thyme tea and thyme essential oil is to help you relax and relieve anxiety. An animal study found that thyme has an anxiolytic (anxiety reducing) effect. Consuming thyme extracts helped reduce stress and anxiety in rats. Scientists theorized that this helps support claims about using thyme tea as an herbal remedy for anxiety. Other studies have shown that carvacrol, which is made from thyme, can have anxiolytic effects. Put a few drops of thyme essential oil on a handkerchief and breathe deeply whenever you need to to help reduce your anxiety levels. Or have a cup of soothing thyme tea in the evening to help lower your stress levels. Thyme tincture helps reduce acne breakouts Using cold thyme tea or a thyme tincture can help reduce the number of infected pimples and pustules on the face. Scientific research has found that thyme may be more effective than some pharmaceutical acne treatments. Studies have shown that thyme kills the Propionibacterium acnes strain of bacteria. These germs are often the cause of acne pimples, pimples, pustules, and cysts. Research found that a thyme tincture made by soaking thyme leaves in alcohol might be better than benzoyl peroxide, a common acne treatment. You can also help get rid of acne by using thyme tea by dipping a cotton ball in tea that has been cooled. To make a homemade thyme acne facial cleanser, add a few drops of tea tree oil to a glass of thyme tea. Shake well before each application, apply to face, and leave for 15-20 minutes to help kill acne-causing bacteria. Repeat 2 times a day to help keep your skin free from breakouts. If you use thyme essential oil to treat acne breakouts, use 10 to 12 drops of essential oil for every 1 ounce (30 ml) of carrier oil such as coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil and apply to the affected area. Thyme has anti-cancer properties The powerful compounds in thyme have been shown to be helpful in killing cancer cells and shrinking tumors in laboratory experiments. The journal Molecules reported that thyme essential oil has great anticancer potential in treating prostate cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer. At present, more research is needed to see how thyme compounds can be used to treat cancer in humans. Precautions when using thyme Thyme is a tasty herb that can enhance the flavor of many foods. What's more, adding thyme to your recipes or consuming thyme tea also has many health benefits. However, there are some precautions to keep in mind if you want to use thyme for its medicinal benefits. For example, some people are allergic to plants in the Lamiaceae family, such as thyme, rosemary, oregano, or basil. Thyme may also interfere with blood clotting medications and can cause additional bleeding if you have surgery. Therefore, you should stop taking thyme approximately 2 weeks before any planned surgery. Doctors also warn that thyme may have an estrogen-like effect. Therefore, if you are a woman who is at risk for hormone-sensitive conditions such as ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, breast cancer, or endometriosis, you should avoid taking thyme for medicinal purposes. If you have been told you have prediabetes, or you are newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, by decreasing your weight by about 10% which is no more than 10-15 lbs for many people you may be able to reverse your diabetes, putting it into remission, or putting off developing it at all. Diuretic herbs stimulate urine secretion, cleanse the body of toxins, act against bloating, and also help in the treatment of urinary tract diseases. What are the herbs that have a proven diuretic effect? Who, when and how can use these diuretic herbs? Are they safe for children and pregnant women to use? What are the contraindications and side effects? Diuretic herbs increase urine output, which is beneficial in alleviating many ailments. Diuretic herbs are believed to cleanse the kidneys and urinary tract; This is true, but diuretic herbs are also invaluable in both the prophylaxis and treatment of many other diseases. Most diuretic herbs also have other properties: antibacterial and antispasmodic, they promote immunity, and in addition to eliminating urine, they also remove toxins without leaching electrolytes from the body. They are recommended not only by people who work with medicinal herbs, but also by doctors. However, it is worth remembering that, despite their valuable properties when dealing with serious diseases, diuretic herbs can turn out to be too weak and using them as the only means of treatment could make the disease worse. How do diuretic herbs help? Diuretic herbs are most often used in the case of: · Kidney disease (to support treatment). · As a support against cystitis, nephrolithiasis, inflammation of the urinary tract. · Treatment of edema of various origins. · During weight loss: some speed up metabolism, others cleanse the body of toxins. · Water retention in the body, which is the result of hormonal disorders. · Hypertension. Diuretic herbs: are they safe? The properties of diuretic herbs have been known for centuries. Many of them are known to be much safer than prescription synthetic diuretics, because they are much milder. However, it is worth remembering that diuretic herbs, like all other herbs, should be used with care, especially if you are also taking medication. This is because they could interact between the two, interfere with their effects, and as a result, delay recovery or cause unpleasant side effects. An overdose of diuretic herbs can be dangerous to health, as it can lead to dehydration of the body and a decrease in blood volume. Therefore, when using them, follow the instructions on the label or packaging, or be guided by the information of your doctor. The best diuretic herbs The list of diuretic herbs has several dozen items, although not all are equally effective and safe. The best diuretic herbs include: 1. Silver birch leaves These are rich in flavonoids, vitamin C, organic acids, saponins, triterpenic compounds. They are used in the form of infusion and decoction, and have a diuretic effect, disinfect the urinary tract, are good as a support against kidney failure, urolithiasis and reduced uric acid excretion. To prepare an infusion of birch leaves, you must pour a tablespoon of leaves with a glass of water and heat for a quarter of an hour under cover. Birch juice is also used as a diuretic, which also helps to remove stones from the kidneys. 2. Nettle leaves and roots Nettle has many valuable properties, the diuretic effect is one of them. Nettle leaves contain many vitamins and minerals, flavonoids, organic acids and roots, including lipid compounds, lecithin, silica. Nettle leaves can be prepared as a tea or added to a salad. 3. Horsetail grass Usually this herb is associated with the effect of strengthening hair and improving skin condition, but hardly anyone knows that horsetail has a diuretic effect. This is rich in flavonoids, minerals, saponins, organic acids, vitamin C, tannins. You can drink it in the form of an infusion or decoction. 4. Goldenrod grass Contains flavonoids, saponins, diterpene compounds, polysaccharides, mineral salts. It has not only a diuretic effect, but also antiseptic, it also improves immunity. Juniper berries They contain volatile oils, flavonoids, tannins, resins, organic acids, mineral compounds. The extract of this berry is used, among other things, against inflammation of the urinary tract. You can drink it as an infusion or prepare a tincture to counteract urinary tract infections. 7. Dandelion Both the dandelion root and its leaves have a diuretic effect, and are rich in flavonoids, minerals, vitamin C, sesquiterpenic compounds. You can get the diuretic effect of a dandelion flower infusion and dandelion root decoction, and even a dandelion root wine. Also, add dandelion leaves to your salads. 8. Black elderberry Its flowers are rich in a number of medicinal substances, including large amounts of flavonoids, phenolic acids, organic acids, and mineral salts. In turn, the fruits of the black elderberry contain glycosides, sugars, vitamin C, B vitamins and mineral salts. Both elderflowers and fruits have diuretic effects. Both can be used to make a decoction or infusion, the fruit is also made from elderberry juice, which, in addition to diuretic properties, also acts as an effective remedy for colds and strengthens the body. 9. Parsley Its roots and fruits contain essential oils, flavonoids, phytosterols and mineral salts. Both the roots and the fruits have a diuretic effect, disinfect the urinary tract and prevent kidney stones. 10. Lovage celery The lovage root contains essential oils, organic acids, resins, mineral salts. It is a popular ingredient in some blends against bladder diseases and chronic urinary tract infections. You can also drink it as an infusion or decoction. Diuretic herbs available in pharmacies, herbal stores, or health food stores are sold in sachets, capsules, or even ready-made juices or decoctions. By knowing what they look like and where they grow, you can also collect them yourself and even grow them on your windowsill or in your home garden. However, in this case you must remember that certain species of herbs must be harvested in a specific way and at a specific time; otherwise, they may lose their valuable properties. Diuretic herbs for pregnant women and children Can pregnant women use diuretic herbs? And could you give the kids a diuretic herbal tea too? Urinary tract infections and bloating are common problems for pregnant women, while children often suffer from cystitis and inflammation of the urinary tract. However, not all diuretic herbs are suitable for pregnant women and children. Birch leaves and nettles are now considered safer (the latter is also considered safe for breastfeeding women), however, it is worth considering that the recommendations regarding this may change from time to time, as each New discoveries are made in the field of herbal medicine. Therefore, for current recommendations, it is worth consulting a doctor during pregnancy, or in the case of children, a pediatrician. Diuretic fruits and vegetables Not only herbs have diuretic properties, but also vegetables and fruits which, like herbs, stimulate urine production, support the kidneys, cleanse the urinary tract, and do not remove electrolytes from the body. In this case, you should also remember that they can only be used as an additional support in the treatment of urinary tract diseases; they cannot replace treatment as such. The best of these diuretic fruits include water-rich watermelons, as well as gooseberries, blueberries, pears, strawberries, wild strawberries, and blueberries. On the other hand, diuretic vegetables are mainly eggplants, horseradish (often recommended for kidney stones), celery, tomatoes, dill, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, onion, asparagus. To reduce energy consumption in your home, you do not necessarily need to go out and purchase energy efficient products. Energy conservation can be as simple as turning off lights or appliances when you do not need them. You can also use energy-intensive appliances less by performing household tasks manually, such as hang-drying your clothes instead of putting them in the dryer, or washing dishes by hand. Unfortunately, the leading reasons for death in the US and other countries are adverse drug reactions. Prescription drugs lead to more than 100,000 deaths a year, and more than 1.5 million cases of people hospitalized with serious side effects. The following three categories of prescription drugs lead to numerous cognitive problems, including memory loss. 20 medications that cause memory loss Memory loss is often interpreted as a sign of aging, an aftermath of substance abuse, or symptoms of diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. What many don't know is that forgetfulness episodes can also be side effects of common prescription drugs. " Scientists now know that memory loss as you age is by no means inevitable". " In fact, the brain can grow new brain cells and reshape their connections throughout life." Does memory loss interfere with your daily life? One of these commonly prescribed medications may be the culprit. Statins These drugs are one of the most damaging drugs for the brain and are used to regulate cholesterol levels. This is due to the fact that ¼ of the brain is made up of cholesterol, necessary for thinking, memory, and learning. However, they also cause memory loss and similar adverse effects. If you take statins ¹ for slightly elevated cholesterol levels instead of diagnosed coronary heart disease, a vitamin cocktail may be a better option. Ask your doctor or other health care provider if a combination of sublingual vitamin B12 (1,000 mcg per day), folic acid (800 mcg per day), and vitamin B6 (200 mg per day) can deliver for you. "Anti" drugs, medications that promote memory loss All “anti” medications, such as antihistamines, antibiotics, antidepressants, antipsychotics, antispasmodics or antihypertensives affect the levels of acetylcholine³ in the body, which is the main neurotransmitter necessary for memory and learning. Low levels cause blurred vision, memory loss, dementia, delirium, mental confusion, and hallucinations. Antidepressant drugs are also prescribed for a variety of psychological complications, such as eating disorders, chronic pain, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, more than a third of adults taking the medication report episodes of memory loss, and half report having trouble concentrating. To avoid this, it may help to talk to your healthcare provider about drug-free therapies. Sleeping pills Sleeping pills often lead to memory loss and cause a state similar to being in a coma or being drunk. Therefore, they do not restore the sleep necessary for the body to repair itself. For example, Ambien, a popular drug, is known to be "the drug of amnesia" as it leads to hallucinations, terrors at night, sleepwalking, and drowsy driving. Medicines. A number of prescription and over-the-counter medications can interfere with or cause memory loss. Possible culprits include: antidepressants, antihistamines, anti-anxiety medications, muscle relaxants, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, and pain relievers after surgery. There are alternative drug and non-drug treatments for insomnia and anxiety, so you should talk to your healthcare professional about the options. Melatonin, in doses of 3 to 10 mg before bedtime, for example, sometimes helps restore healthy sleep patterns. However, sudden withdrawal can cause serious side effects, so a healthcare professional should always monitor the process. Always consult your healthcare provider before making any adjustments to drug therapies. 1. Antibiotics (quinolones). 2. Sleeping Pills - Ambien, Lunesta, Sonata. 3. Pain relievers - morphine, codeine, heroin. 4. Insulin. 5. Chemotherapy. 6. Epilepsy - Dilantin or phenytoin. 7. Barbiturates - Nembutal, Phenobarbital, Seconal, Amytal. 8. Antipsychotics - Mellaril, Haldol. 9. Parkinson's disease - atropine, glycopyrrolate, scopolamine. 10. Benzodiazepines - Xanax, Valium, Dalmane, Ativan. 11. Quinidine 12. Beta blockers. 13. Medications for high blood pressure. 14. Interferons. 15. Naproxen. 16. Tricyclic antidepressants. 17. Methyldopa. 18. Lithium. 19. Antihistamines. 20. Steroids In case you use these medications, you should consult your doctor and find out if they affect your memory. You can always find a healthier alternative, at least other medications or lifestyle changes. You need to be more physically active, take some supplements, and consume a lot more beneficial foods for your brain and health in general, in order to reduce the load on it. You must preserve brain health in order to stay strong and overall healthy. All food provides the body with energy, but this energy can vary greatly. Some foods, such as sugars and refined carbs, give the body a quick jolt of energy. However, more often, the body needs more sustainable energy from ingredients such as fruits, grains, and legumes. We can't deny it: happiness is something we all want and need. But in this day and age, happiness can seem so fleeting and so difficult to maintain. How do we get joy and how do we hold on to it? Many times, we feel that our happiness depends on other people, either by receiving the praise and recognition we deserve from our boss and colleague, or by the love we desire from our partner. However, as science has shown, your happiness is in your own hands. Therapists explain 3 reasons why happiness is in your own hands Is it hard for you to believe? That is understandable. Life can be cruel and makes it difficult for us to feel that we have that kind of ability. However, if you've ever been to therapy, you know that we actually have a surprising amount of power over our own perception of happiness. So what do therapists know that we don't? Let's find out. 1. Happiness and success are not the same With the amount of time we spend at work, it is easy to assume that the two are interrelated. However, this is not true. The concept of wealth is fairly recent. Once you have enough money to feel comfortable, no amount of wealth will make you happier. What exactly are you going through? Frankly speaking, the benefits your job brings you are not really what you need. Here's the thing: work as a concept is something that is still relatively new, and quite frankly, it doesn't meet any of our needs. Biologically speaking, we are back to hunter-gatherer software. This means that to be truly happy, we must first meet those basic needs that are built into our DNA, not the ones that we have rapidly built up over the past two hundred years. And here's the unfortunate: Success at work often comes at the cost of your relationships. These are some of the things it affects: Relationships with loved ones Our time and energy are limited, and the only thing that work gives in return is money. If we invest most of it in careers, then we simply cannot spend time with our loved ones. After all, you can't accurately attend a friend's baby shower if you have work commitments that you prefer to prioritize. Connections with others Work often draws you away from other people and places a barrier of formality between you and the next person that can be difficult to cross. This is a problem, since the deprivation of physical contact is really terrible for our mental health, positive thinking and happiness. It also doesn't help that not all workplaces are kind to employees who hug each other. Working overtime is bad for your health This really shouldn't be news. The CDC released a report as early. How working overtime is mentally and physically detrimental to your health. In other words, there is literally no long-term benefit to working harder than necessary at your job. Fortunately, change is not too difficult for us either, just remember that your success has nothing to do with your happiness. Instead, consider: What kinds of activities make you happy? When was the last time you had an honest conversation with your family? Who was the last time you had a friendly lunch date? If you can begin to answer these questions, happiness will surely come to you. 2. How is your mental health? We often think of happiness as a state of being that must occur as a reward for completing specific goals, or it is something that just happens. However, this is not really the case. No matter what life gives you, feeling happy is in your head. And as any therapist claims to tell you, if your head is not ready to be positive and receive joy, then you will not feel happy whatever happens. What do we mean by that? There's a lot of talk about how you should practice positive thinking to achieve happiness, but it's easier said than done. Modern society has caused us many problems, including mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Mental illness affects your happiness even more than poverty. As an example, here are some of the things depression does to your brain: Cause Executive dysfunction Executive functioning is the part of your brain responsible for things like organizing, planning, and executing ideas. When this goes downhill, so does your ability to schedule appointments, schedule meetings, and start your day's work. Not exactly great if you want to be positive, since you can't be sure that you are productive. Causes serotonin deficiency It's hard to feel happy when you literally don't have enough of that happy juice. Serotonin is a brain chemical that's primarily responsible for that elusive feeling of happiness, and a lack of it is associated with low moods. Causes insomnia That's right, depression can disrupt your sleep. And you just need a bad night's sleep to keep your spirit permanently dark for the rest of the day. Imagine that that effect worsens for months or even years. Cause lethargy As a result of battling mental illness, depression often leaves us incredibly tired and exhausted at all times. It's not exactly a great recipe to make anything, which in turn worsens our mood. If you've been struggling with your mental health, you may have to deal with it first before you can attain happiness. Therapy even helps with what would otherwise be simple day-to-day problems. Once you address what's causing you problems and poor mental health, happiness becomes much more achievable. This, of course, requires you to acknowledge that you have problems, which is sometimes the hardest part. He only knows that therapy is only there to help and that in the end it is all worth it. 3. Advocate for your brain It's a simple fact: our brains were made for variety. After several millennia, our brains, like any other mammal, yearn for stimulation in all its forms. So how can we take advantage of this evolutionary trait and use it to our advantage? We like to think that we are smarter, more superior than most other creatures, but this is false. At the end of the day, we are still animals, just the ones with much more complicated thoughts. Sometimes you just need to appeal directly to our monkey brains for that sweet dopamine boost. And the easiest way to do it is to create something. But first, what is dopamine? Dopamine is a chemical that is often associated with the rewarding part of our brain, but there is something else. He not only rewards you for the big things, he rewards you for the little things as well. And by small, we mean elements such as: · Drink water · Eat · Read · Be on a task And that's not even the half! This means that the act of making something tangible, like knitting a sock or making soup, is an incredible continuous source of dopamine. There's a reason arts and crafts are so popular - they make you happy. Won't creating something electronic produce the same result? Unfortunately, this is not the case. While the act of creating something virtual can make us happy, it is not as effective. Our brains are not ready for something like this yet. All of this is also backed by neuroscience. Something as simple as the act of repairing a lamp fills your brain with those chemicals that make you feel good. In fact, a crucial ingredient for happiness. So what does this mean to you? The answer is pretty simple: pick a tool and start doing something tangible. It doesn't matter if your instrument is a pen, a needle, or just your fingers; As long as you get to the act of creating something, it can bring you happiness. In fact, this is such an authoritative source of happiness that the work of an occupational therapist largely uses this positive outcome to ensure that your therapy works. And if it's good enough for the pros, it's definitely good enough for you. One of the most dangerous eating and psychological disorders is undoubtedly bulimia. This is often confused with anorexia, however, despite the fact that many patients may have both disorders, it is important to differentiate them. What is bulimia? As already mentioned, bulimia is an eating and psychological disorder. This consists of eating large amounts of junk food in a short period of time. Bulimic people eat uncontrollably and cannot stop. There is also what is called bulimia nervosa. However, once they are completely full, they begin to feel guilt, shame, and other negative emotions. This leads them to adopt compensatory behaviors to avoid gaining fat and gaining weight. Therefore, they resort to laxatives, enemas, induce vomiting or perform strenuous physical activity. All this, in order to burn the fat and calories that could be obtained after the binge of food. Likewise, it is common for people with bulimia to fast, eat less, smoke cigarettes, and engage in other unhealthy behaviors after these binges in order to lose weight. What is anorexia? Anorexia nervosa, for its part, also consists of an eating and psychological disorder, however, it manifests itself in a different way. In this case, people with anorexia feel a real fear of gaining weight, which is why, many times, they stop eating. In anorexia nervosa, instead of eating and vomiting, people eat little or nothing for fear of gaining weight. That is why it is so dangerous, since patients with anorexia can fall into malnutrition without realizing the severity of their condition. What is Binge Eating Disorder? On the other hand, there is also another disorder, which is perhaps a little less known, but it is equally important to know it to differentiate it from bulimia. Similar to bulimic people, binge-eating disorder patients tend to eat large amounts of food in a short time. After the ingestion of food, there is a feeling of guilt, however, they do not try to apply the compensatory behaviors that in bulimia they do. Therefore, people with this disorder only binge, feel guilty, but do not seek to purge so as not to gain weight. How to differentiate bulimia from what is not? Therefore, to differentiate bulimia from what is not, it is important to take into account its main characteristics: · Uncontrolled ingestion of junk food in a short period of time. · Feelings of guilt, shame, and regret. · Fear of gaining weight and accumulating fat. · Adoption of compensatory behaviors to avoid gaining weight (laxatives, induced vomiting, enemas, diuretics, high intensity physical exercise..) Bulimia is quite a dangerous disorder and it can have many negative consequences for people who suffer from it. Due to the unhealthy behaviors and behaviors that bulimics adopt, the following complications may occur: · Dehydration · Dysphonia · Erosions in the esophagus. · Esophageal or gastric rupture. · Problems in the mouth such as injuries to the oral mucosa, cavities, gingivitis, infection in the salivary glands. · Cardiac arrhythmia. · Dry skin and hair loss. · Leg weakness, dizziness and frequent fainting. · Low potassium levels. · Sterility, amenorrhea or alterations in menstruation. · Aspiration of gastric contents. Therefore, it is vitally important that people with this disorder receive treatment as soon as possible. However, in many cases it is difficult to realize that someone has this problem, so treatment usually starts late. The sooner the problem is treated, the better the prognosis for the patient. High blood pressure is the number one risk factor for stroke and a major risk factor for heart disease. High blood pressure is when the blood pressure in your arteries rises and your heart has to work harder than normal to pump blood through the blood vessels. It is important that you have your blood pressure checked regularly by your healthcare provider. BP Zone Zenith Labs Reviews

The importance of progesterone, a crucial sex hormone, is often overlooked. Progesterone imbalance affects both women and men. Scientific research is beginning to shed light on the importance of maintaining a balance between progesterone and estrogen for overall health and wellness. It is also beginning to show significant differences between the natural (bioidentical) and synthetic versions. Bioidentical Progesterone Supplement The primary hormones that are prescribed for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or birth control pills are derived from synthetic sources. They do not have the same function in the body as our biological hormones. Studies show that synthetic hormones are linked to an increase in certain health problems. According to the study by the Women's Health Initiative, an experiment involving hormone replacement therapy was stopped early due to the increase in breast cancer. Breast cancer rates have decreased significantly since the reports of this study were published. Risks and benefits of estrogen plus progestin in healthy postmenopausal women Discussion on Routine Hormone Replacement Therapy (Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health). Currently, natural progesterone (bioidentical hormone therapy) is beginning to gain recognition for its beneficial effects. Natural progesterone has a molecular structure identical to the progesterone produced by the human body and is created through the fermentation process of Mexican wild yam. Reduced progesterone levels From the time menstruation begins until menopause, estrogen and progesterone levels in women drop and flow to promote reproduction. Between the ages of 35 and 40, women reach perimenopause. This is when your progesterone and estrogen levels start to drop. During this time until about age 50, there is a 35% drop in estrogen, but a 75% drop in progesterone occurs at the same time. This normal process creates the accepted perimenopausal symptoms as part of the aging process. Premenopausal women and many women in menopause are overloaded with estrogen. At the same time, they suffer from progesterone deficiency due to the severe drop in physiological production during this period. This results in an inability to counteract the amount of estrogen in the body. It is most noticeable among perimenopausal women who do not ovulate. A common occurrence, a woman may appear to have a fairly normal cycle, but no egg is released and very little progesterone is produced. Importance of progesterone “This essential hormone also plays a role in the development of healthy nerve cells and brain and thyroid function. Synthetic progestins tend to block the body's ability to make and use natural progesterone to maintain these life-promoting functions. " DigitalNaturopath.com Progesterone can help prevent estrogen from affecting health, among other protective factors. Therefore, supplementing with a natural progesterone cream can help. It can correct hormonal imbalances that cause symptoms associated with estrogen dominance. Progesterone is also the main hormone for fertility and pregnancy. It is essential for the survival of the fertilized egg, embryo, and fetus. In pregnancy, it prevents shedding of the uterine lining, as a drop in progesterone can lead to miscarriage. Natural progesterone helps to counteract the negative effects of estrogen. When there is not enough progesterone to counteract estrogen, one can start to have symptoms of estrogen dominance. Common symptoms can include PMS, heavy or irregular periods, irritability, weight gain, anxiety, hair loss, low libido, fibrocystic breasts, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids. Men can also experience symptoms related to estrogen dominance. Progesterone deficiency symptoms in women and men Symptoms in women · Hot flushes · Tender breasts · Fibrocystic breasts · Anxiety · Hair loss · Bone loss · Low libido · Night sweats · Irregular periods · Vaginal dryness · Depression · Insomnia · Sterility · Weight gain · Acne · Swelling · Humor changes · Memory lapses · Loss of muscle · Nervousness · Excess facial / body hair · Heavy or painful periods · Urinary incontinence · Poor concentration · Irritability Symptoms in men · Prostate problems · Breast augmentation · Loss of bone / muscle · Impotence · Atherosclerosis · Male patterned baldness · Weight gain · Low libido Causes of the imbalance between progesterone and estrogen · Stress · Obesity · Poor liver function · Birth control pills · Plant estrogens (soy, flaxseed, red clover) · Hormone replacement therapy · Peri-menopause · Glandular dysfunction · Environmental estrogens Progesterone as a building block Additionally, progesterone is a building block for many other hormones, including corticosteroids. They are produced by the adrenal glands and are essential for stress response, electrolyte balance, blood pressure, and survival. Without adequate progesterone, cortisone synthesis is affected and the body turns to alternative pathways. These alternative pathways have male-produced side effects such as long facial hairs and thinning of the scalp. Cortisol, DHEA, testosterone, and estrogen are made from progesterone in a process that begins with cholesterol. Importance of balancing progesterone and estrogen Hormones have a profound effect on your everyday health and well-being. Although only present in small amounts, they affect every cell. Hormones not only have individual effects, but they also interact with each other to produce dramatic effects in the body. Due to these interactions, they can activate multiple body systems. The balance of hormones in a woman's body is very important. At different times in a woman's life, hormonal imbalance can be caused by stress, obesity, liver failure, birth control pills, plant estrogens (soy, flaxseed, red clover), hormone replacement therapy, perimenopause, glandular dysfunction, and estrogens environmental. Regardless of the cause, the end result of an estrogen-to-progesterone imbalance adds up to a condition that has been termed "estrogen dominance." This condition can lead to symptoms of PMS, perimenopause, or menopause. Problems with synthetic progesterone (progestin) It is important to understand the difference between natural bioidentical progesterone and the synthetic version commonly known as progestin. Natural progesterone is not a patentable product. Therefore, pharmaceutical companies have altered this hormone to produce synthetic progestins, which are patentable and generally used in contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Synthetic progestins are not exact replicas of the body's natural progesterone. Although there is a big difference between the effects of the natural and synthetic versions, doctors often interchange their names. The synthetic version of this hormone is not really progesterone; it is a progestogen. Progestins are synthetic compounds similar to progesterone made by pharmaceutical companies. Synthetic progesterones are much more potent than the body's own natural progesterone and are metabolized as foreign substances into toxic metabolites and can seriously interfere with the body's natural progesterone, create other hormone-related health problems, and further exacerbate the dominance of the estrogen. Progestin side effects Unfortunately, there is a long list of side effects, some of which are quite severe. · Headaches · Depression · Fluid retention · Increased risk of birth defects · Increased risk of miscarriage · Liver dysfunction · Tender breasts · Breakthrough bleeding · Acne · Insomnia · Hirsutism (hair growth) · Edema · Weight changes · Pulmonary embolism · Premenstrual syndrome Most importantly, synthetic progestins lack the intrinsic physiological benefits of progesterone, so they cannot function on major biosynthetic pathways like progesterone does and can disrupt many critical processes in the body. Natural Progesterone Benefits Include · Promoting a healthy balance of sex hormones · Have a calming effect · Helps improve mood · Helps normalize menstrual cycles · Increase sexual desire · Helps use fat for energy. One of the most common causes of tinnitus is damage to the microscopic endings of the hearing nerve in the inner ear. As people age it is common to have a certain amount of hearing nerve impairment. This impairment causes and tinnitus. Exposure to loud noises is a very common cause of tinnitus, and it often damages hearing as well.
